Month of Rajab

MONTH OF RAJAB

Rajab is the 7th month of the Islamic Calendar. Rajab Al Murajjab is significant for the birth of Sayyiduna Ali Al Murtadha (RadhiAllahu Anhu) and the urs of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (Rahimahullāh).

‎The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) stated: "Rajab is the month of Allah Almighty, Sha'bān is my month and Ramadān is the month of my Ummah."‬⁩
Following on with this beautiful dua; "O Allah, make the months of Rajab and Sha’bān blessed for us, and let us reach the month of Ramadān."

Allah Almighty doubles the rewards in this month. [Tabarani]

We ask for the coming generations to have the love of sayyiduna Abu Bakr, the might of Sayyiduna Umar, the modesty of Sayyiduna Uthman, the courage of Sayyiduna Ali, the beauty of Sayyiduna Hasan, the loyalty of Sayyiduna Hussain, the purity of Sayyida Fatima, the taqwa of Sayyida Umm Kulthum, the broken heart of Sayyiduna Bilal and the leadership of the Mahdi رضي الله عنهم

No Lasting Beauty

NO LASTING BEAUTY ON EARTH

Who among us is not attracted to a beautiful face? That is why celebrities have always cast a magic spell on us with their style and charisma ever since our childhood. Do we not remember the very handsome Roger Moore who played the part of James Bond in the 1970s and 1980s apart from the leading role in popular TV program series like 'The Saint', 'The Persuaders' and many Hollywood movies? But he could not defeat the tides of time and look what old age has transformed him into!

So this life is very temporary and unfair in spite of its many attractions and that is why the concept of afterlife has its significance where those who do good in this world will be given eternal youth and beauty along with infinite rewards and kingdoms!

We are here in this world to live an active life also but what could be better than if it is in submission to the commandments of Allah and His Prophet (pbuh)? However, there is a difference between actually living such a life and thinking we are living it. Unless there is an effort involved along with sacrifice, we cannot claim we are treading on the forgotten trail that leads to salvation in the hereafter!

Living such a life is a challenge today indeed as the environments everywhere are mostly alien and devoid of spirituality. Still, it is not impossible.

It is not being advised to leave any place just because the environment is not right. Thankfully in Pakistan, even the most liberal and progressive organizations and educational institutions have mosques or praying corners. At least one has no alibi here and can visit those spots to offer prayers at the right times to revive faith.

Secondly, fulfilling duties at workplaces with ethical commitment is also a much appreciated deed in Islam. Unfortunately, the job description in some organizations today, do not cater to the permissible means of earning in Islam. Thus, if the everlasting afterlife matters to us, then we need to keep ourselves aware about the permissible (halaal) sources of earning and vice versa. Seeking help of conventional scholars and Islamic institutions will help us here while we need to be cautious about the so-called progressive scholars funded by the West whose job is to associate Islam with terrorism and who are always trying to challenge the conventional teachings of Islam.

Beauty does not last long in this world and neither do we. Let's not forget to prepare for the infinite afterlife while we pursue our temporary passions. Are we ready to forego our current ideals and redefine who we are?

Our Creator, Almighty Allah (swt) is giving us time. Let's make good use of it!

PAKISTAN AND SPIRITUAL INHERITANCE

A page from blog "Future of Pakistan (Insha Allah)" is being reproduced below. The blog was organized with extensive research by Mr. Faqar-e-Ghayoor and translations of some articles for blog were also done by me in 2012 (just to mention so one should know that below is not a wild random pick from the Internet).

Pakistan & Spiritual Inheritance (Secrets of Creation of Pakistan - Part 2)

پاکستان، حضرت مجدد الف ثانی رحمتہ الله علیہ کی روح مبارک کا مقصود ہے

Hazrat Pir Jamaat Ali Shah (r.a.)
(1841-1951)

Amir-e-Millat Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Sahib Muhaddas Ali Puri (r.a.) was one of the great saints of Sialkot, Pakistan. He was Wali Allah of Naqshbandia Sufi order.

At the age of 100 years, he was a big supporter of the Pakistan movement and amongst his admirers was one Allama Iqbal. He wrote many letters to Quaid e Azam offering advice and support and he was instrumental in getting the populace to vote for the Muslim League: he issued a fatwa saying that Muslims would not read the janazah prayer of anyone who did not vote for Pakistan, also, Congress supporters would not be buried in Muslim graveyard.

He sent a tasbih and prayer mat to the Quaid too and asked him to pray regularly. As a Sufi he occupied the status of a Perfect Master and he was loved by all and sundry. It is for his love of the Beloved Prophet of Allah (Alayhi salaat o salaam) that he is especially famous. He passed on to his Creator in 1951 but until the very end he stuck passionately to the commands of the Shar'iah, never missing a prayer and often he would pray all night long.

Hazrat Maulana Syed Muhammad Habibullah Shah Sahib (Qudssirrahul Aziz)(b.1895) was a famous saint of Jafar Kot, Tehseel Ajnala, Amratsar. He migrated to Gujrat, Pakistan after partition of India. He was a Sufi saint of Naqshbandia Mujjaddia order and also great supporter of Pakistan Movement.

Zikr-e-Saeed is his biography & discourses, published by Aastana Aalia Habibia, Gujrat.

Imam-e-Rabbani Mujaddid Alif Sani Shaikh Ahmad Sirhindi (r.a.) (1564-1624) was famous Sufi Master and Wali Allah who was equally respected by all schools of thought in Indo-Pak. Most famous of his works are a collection of 536 letters, called 'Maktoobat Imam-e-Rabbani' which he wrote to Mughal rulers, his contemporaries and disciples.

Some selections from his Maktoobat are below:

واضح ہو کہ احادیث میں آیا ہے کہ امام مہدی علیہ السلام ظاہر نہ ہوں گے جب تک کفر غالب نہ ہو گا یعنی اس وقت کفر اور کافری غالب ہو گی. اسلام اور مسلمان مغلوب ہوں گے.

Following couplet of Allama Iqbal (r.a.) is the summary of this post.

Interpretation of above couplet by Prof. Yousuf Saleem Chishti:

Age, Experience and Religion Islam

AGE, EXPERIENCE AND RELIGION ISLAM

Allah knows what is in our hearts. Age 40 is the turning point of one's life. Most of the Prophets (peace be upon them all) were granted Prophethood also around the age of 40. Before that no matter how intelligent we are, we may not be able to perceive things rightly. Number of years combined with experiences in life can make us form solid statements about life.

As far as religion Islam is concerned, guidance comes from Almighty Allah only. So we have to put strong belief in Him above all and nurture deep love for His Dear Prophet (pbuh) in our hearts. Only then we can achieve the right spirit of 'deen' but we have to continue with our hard work not worrying about passing years. Allah knows what is in our hearts and He knows what is best for us!

Praying regularly in a Masjid

PRAYING REGULARLY IN A MASJID

There is someone who used to have nightmares. The intensity was so severe that he would scream out in fright and sometimes run from his bedroom to another. Due to running through doorway, at times he got his body bruised and also hurt in throat due to screaming.

He had love for Allah and His Prophet (pbuh) thankfully ever since he was very young but he did not use to offer regular prayers in Masjid, only Jummah prayer. Apart from that he used to offer one or two prayers in a day at home or office (with five times prayers a day in exceptional cases also).

A change came in his life and he started offering prayers five times a day on regular basis. Next, he started visiting Majid more and more for regular prayers. He noticed that the nightmares almost disappeared Al-hamdulillah with all these positive steps. SubhanALLAH.

Hadhrat Bilal (ra) on deathbed

Hadhrat Bilal (ra) on deathbed

The saddest moment in history was the day the Prophet ﷺ left this world. Whilst Sayyiduna Bilal (ra) was on his deathbed, he shouted out with happiness and said, "TOMORROW I SHALL MEET THE BELOVEDS, MUHAMMAD ﷺ AND HIS FRIENDS!"

Rudest Of Comparisons About Our Dear Prophet (pbuh)

Rudest Of Comparisons About Our Dear Prophet (pbuh)

One Of The Most Rudest Of Comparisons That Is Ever Made Is When People With Little Understanding And Little Knowledge Of The Qur'an Say, "The Prophet Is Just Like Me And You!"

Wallahi Al'Adhim, That Statement Causes Our Souls To Shake. I Swear By Allah, The One Who Created The Heavens And The Earth, There Is Not The Slightest Similarity. His Body Is Pure. His Saliva Is Cure. His Skin Is Softer Than Silk. He ﷺ Is The Distributor Of Kawthar - The Water That Is Sweeter Than Honey And Whiter Than Milk. His Body Is Fragrant. His Touch Is Remedy. His Perspiration Is Heavenly. He ﷺ Is Magnified And Raised Beyond Creation. He ﷺ Is Elevated Above Every Station. His Speech Is Revelation. He ﷺ Is The Leader Of Every Nation, He ﷺ Was Given The Quran, And He ﷺ Is Its Greatest Translation. From Flaws, He ﷺ Is Protected. It Is He ﷺ Who Shall Be The First To Be Resurrected And It Is Only Through Him That Allah (Subhana Wa Ta'ala) Allowed Us To Feel Connected. What Similarity Do We Have?
