SMART THINKING - April 25, 2023

Smart thinking is needed not just at the workplace but in day to day matters also. On the second day of Eid, one of our relatives visited us and brought a bundle of six Coca-Cola bottles (one and a half liter). It's been ages since this hospitality custom ended due to awareness of harms of cold drinks. I myself take only a 250 ml bottle of soft drink just once a week since 20 years, even in Summers.

I told her that we could not accept that bundle but she insisted. So I kept it. But next day, yesterday, I sold that bundle to a general store at the same price of Rs. 780/- which the salesmen from Coke demand from store owners. They in turn charge the customers Rs. 900/- for the whole bundle or sell one bottle @ Rs. 150/-.

That way I did not have to keep the soft drink bottles. This is smart thinking

Eid is over now and we are at the threshold of a new era. We have to fight to survive for "Tough times don't last but tough people do!"

The exiled son of the Iranian Shah toppled in the 1979 Islamic revolution will visit Israel this week, Israel's government said on Sunday, calling him the "most senior Iranian personality" to ever pay a public visit to Israel.

Israel and Iran enjoyed warmer ties under the US-backed Shah, though they have become enemies since.

Israel, in its statement, said the visit by Reza Pahlavi is meant to create "a bridge between Israel and the Iranian people, and expressing joint opposition to the Ayatollah regime."

Report to SC warned of ‘cross-border terrorism, all-out war with India’

Cross-border terrorism, instability in the country, threats from the TTP, IS fighters returning to Pakistan from several countries, the ill-designs of the Indian spy agency RAW and even an all-out war with the neighbouring country — the defence ministry report submitted to the Supreme Court on Tuesday feared all kinds of threats in the way of holding elections at present.

The report, filed in the top court along with an application to withdraw its election-date order, feared a spike in terrorism threats if elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies were held before polls in other assemblies.

The report, seen by Dawn, noted that elections in Punjab would fuel fault lines in Pakistan and might encourage India’s foreign intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) to take benefit of ethnic issues, water disputes, and other issues.

آج رات رمضان کی پہلی طاق رات ہے ۔ یعنی 21 ویں کی رات

Jazba-e-Emaani - 17 Ramzan

  

غزوہ بدر ، جذبۂ ایمانی اور قبلہ اوّل

17 Ramzan -

جذبۂ ایمانی میں بڑی طاقت ہوتی ہے۔ جب یہ بیدار ہو جائے تو ۳۱۳ بھی ہزار پر بھاری پڑھ جاتے ہیں (جیسا کہ غزوہ بدر میں ہوا) ۔ اور نہ ہو تو اربوں مسلمان مِل کر بھی اپنے قبلہ اوّل کو نہیں بچا پاتے ہیں۔

ہر رمضان مقدس مسجد میں خون سے ہولی کھيلی جاتی ہے، نمازیوں کو پیٹا جاتا ہے، عورتوں کو ہراساں کیا جاتا ہے اور ہم خاموش تماشائی بن کر صرف اللہ کی مدد کا انتظار کرتے رہ جاتے ہیں۔

اللہ کی مدد ان لوگوں کے لیے پہنچی تھی جِن کو اللہ کے سِوا کسی کا ڈر نہ تھا۔ یہ وہ لوگ تھے جو حقیقتاً صرف اللہ کو ماننے والے تھے۔

آج مسجد امير ترين مسلمان مُلکوں کے ہوتے ہوئے بھی اُن ۳۱۳ کی منتظر ہے جنہوں نے آج ہی کے دن (17 رمضان) حق کا علم بلند کیا تھا۔ اللہ ہم سب کو بھی خوابِ غفلت سے جگا کر اُن مجاہدوں سے سبق حاصل کرنے والا بنائے اور القدس کی حفاظت فرمائے۔

Pakistan to place first order for Russian oil - Apr03,'23

PAKISTAN TO PLACE FIRST ORDER FOR RUSSIAN OIL NEXT MONTH - Apr03,2023 

Minister of State for Petroleum Dr Musadik Malik has said that Pakistan will place its first order for Russian crude oil next month, adding that the two countries have agreed on a lot of matters.

The minister made the announcement during an interview with a private news channel on Saturday night and maintained that it may take around 26-27 days for the consignment to reach Pakistan.

He added that Moscow has assured that Islamabad will receive a discount equal to the amount its neighbouring countries are receiving.

Taraweeh Prayers - Are they necessary? - Apr03,'23

IS IT NECESSARY TO OFFER TARAWEEH PRAYERS? ARE WE MISSING SOMETHING?

Taraween prayers in Ramzan are observed in Pakistan and many other Muslim countries. It is important to know that they though it is not absolute 'fardh' to offer Taraweeh prayers but since whole Holy Qur'an is recited in Taraweeh prayers, hence they carry lot of spiritual benefits for Muslims. It is not just matter of belief but a reality.

Secondly, in Ramzan since most of us are unable to undertake any physical exercise on daily basis due to our change in routines, hence offering Taraweeh prayers acts as a substitute for physical exercise. The process of standing, bending in Rukku position and then prostrating twice in one Rikkah, stimulates the muscles of our whole body and blood circulation. It is recommended that if one is unable to offer full 20 Rikkahs, then he should try to offer as much Rikkah he can.

Taraweeh is a Nafil worship act of a Muslim thus greatly rewarded and in Ramzan we should try to renew our bond with Almighty Allah.

روزے کے مسائل

روزہ رکھنا فرض ہے اور اس کے مسائل جاننا بھی چاہئیں تاکہ ہمارا روزہ ضائع نہ ہو ۔ ویسے مسلمان کا جتنا علم ہے اس کے مطابق اس کی جزا و سزا ہے آخرت میں لیکن روزہ رکھنا فرض ہے اور بحیثیت ایک بالغ اور پڑھے لکھے انسان ، ہمیں روزے کے بنیادی مسائل کو ضرور جاننا چاہیئے ۔ جب بندہ کوشش کرتا ہے تو اللہ بھی اس سے راضی ہوتا ہے اگرچہ اس سے غلطیاں بھی ہوتی ہیں ۔ لیکن اگر کوئی مسلمان سرے سے کوشش ہی نہ کرے تو پھر یہ نازک معاملہ ہے اور آخرت میں اس کی پکڑ ہوسکتی ہے ۔

روزے کا ایک مختصر مسلہ نیچے دیا گیا ہے ۔

روزے میں جب وضو کرتے ہیں تو منہ میں پانی بھر کر کلی نہیں کرتے بلکہ 3 دفعہ ہونٹوں اور زبان کے اگلے حصے کو ہاتھ میں پانی لے کر چھوتے ہیں ۔ دوسرا یہ کہ روزے میں دانت برش نہیں کرتے ۔ سہری کا وقت ختم ہونے سے پہلے برش کر لیتے ہیں ۔
