We are heading to World War III and we are being led by
extraordinarily violent governments in Israel and the United States. I see a
calamity building and a lot of blood flowing. It’s a kind of mass murder of civilians
by Israel and the United States. This is shocking actually.
We should keep it in mind that this is not a targeted
bombing, this is carpet bombing in Tehran. And I’ve been speaking on the phone
with absolutely desperate people in Tehran in the last 48 hours and it’s carpet
bombing. And they are killing indiscriminately.
So this is not a disaster that is likely to go away. No one’s
claiming in Israel or the U.S. that it’s likely to go away. And the
consequences for the world will be utterly awful.
And, we have a lot of Americans. We have a very particular
society. We have a lot of Americans who are saying, “Move on, this is
Armageddon coming. This is the promised end of the world.”
We are hearing lots of reports about this being preached in
the military. We’re seeing a lot of people who believe that the worse it gets,
the closer we are to the second coming of Jesus Christ. And that’s a motivating
factor in the United States I have to tell you. It’s a significant part of Mr
Trump’s base and so bad news is not necessarily deterrence. It may just mean
escalation to Armageddon.
It’s a grim situation we are in. We have not seen anything like it actually, since World War II. This is even beyond the Iraq War. They then had, I won’t say the dignity, but they then had the impulse to hide the motivations. Here there is no impulse to hide the motivations. It’s just a complete “Kill anybody and kill everybody” and overturn, this society of 100 million people and the ancient society of 5,000 years. So it’s dreadful.

DISMANTLING OF UNRWA

I am writing this in a personal capacity, not in my role, because this is one of those moments where staying quiet does not feel right.
I’ll be blunt. I am furious about what is happening to UNRWA and even more furious about how quiet so many of us are.
Philippe Lazzarini's article in The Guardian should be required reading for anyone who works in humanitarian action, diplomacy, or international cooperation. Because what he is describing is not just a crisis in Gaza. It is the dismantling of one of the core institutions of the international humanitarian system in full view of the world.
UNRWA is not an abstract UN agency.
It is schools.
It is primary healthcare.
It is food distribution.
It is protection.
It is dignity for millions of Palestinian refugees.
If UNRWA collapses, we are not just losing an organisation. We are signalling that humanitarian institutions can be dismantled by a state, that humanitarian workers can be killed, and that an entire civilian population can be collectively punished ... and the world will move on.
What troubles me most right now is not just what is happening, but how easily political and humanitarian leaders are distracted. How quickly the conversation moves. How comfortable some have become with things that should be absolutely unacceptable.
We cannot spend our careers talking about international humanitarian law, multilateralism, and a rules-based order, and then fall strangely quiet when those very principles are being tested in the most visible way possible.
Silence is not neutrality. Silence is a choice.
And this is a moment where we should be choosing to speak, dare I say SHOUT, in support of UNRWA, in support of humanitarian workers, and in support of the people of Palestine.
History does not judge us by the meetings we attended or the statements we carefully drafted.
It judges us by the moments when speaking up was uncomfortable and whether we did it anyway.

US, IZRAEL ATTACK ON IRAN - Feb 28, 2026
US and Izrael attacked Iran. In retaliation to strikes on Iran by US and Izrael, Iran targeted US bases in UAE. According to a source, some missiles were intercepted and thus public area like Palm Jumerah in Dubai was hit. I am not a Shia but Iran is not an aggressor. It is the only Muslim country right now which is showing courage against the oppressive forces.
Islamic Scholar Retd. Justice Taqi Usmani of Pakistan says that war with Afghanistan is not right because it's another Muslim country. Journalist Hassan Nisar says that the snake should be crushed because enough is enough (due to continuing waves of terrrrorism from the soil of Afghanistan). Afghan Taliban have become Indian Proxy.
Journalist Hamid Mir says that after attack on Iran, India and Izrael could attack Pakistan with the silent consent of USA. And this time, the Afghan Taliban might also be involved God forbid.
Hamid Mir further says that government of Pakistan should try to unite Pakistanis by resolving political differences and putting an end to the agenda of political revenge. The opposition should also act sensibly by not flaring up all the time.
Hamid Mir also says that there's no need to free Imran Khan and he does not want to be freed just to make a deal. His case should be treated fairly through court cases thus providing him relief.

Pakistan - A nation to lead! - Feb'26
Pakistan is not a country to live in...
That’s what they say at the Iftar tables. That’s what the headlines scream. That’s what the queues at the embassies suggest.
But as an educator who has looked into the eyes of over 1.2 million students, I don't see a country to "leave." I see a nation to lead.
We are often so blinded by the dust of our challenges that we forget the gold beneath our feet. As a teacher and a believer in our collective potential, here are 10 reasons why I am proud to call Pakistan my home, and why you should be, too:
1. Our Unstoppable Youth: Our students don't just study; they survive, adapt, and innovate against all odds.
2. Philanthropy in our DNA: We are one of the most charitable nations on earth. We take care of our own like no one else.
3. Global Tech Talent: From local incubators to international boardrooms, Pakistani minds are rewriting the world's code.
4. The Spirit of "Jugaad": Give a Pakistani a problem and zero resources, and they will still find a way. Our innovation is born of necessity.
5. Unmatched Hospitality: We are a nation that will serve a guest a feast even if our own kitchen is bare.
6. Natural Wonders: From the K2 peaks to the Gwadar shores, our land is a geographical masterpiece.
7. Resilience: We have faced every crisis, economic, natural, or social and we are still standing.
8. Cultural Depth: Our poetry, Sufism, and heritage aren't just history; they are a soul-level connection to the world.
9. Women of Steel: From the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs to every household, our women are the backbone of our economic future.
10. The Arfa Karims: We are the soil that produces the youngest geniuses the world has ever seen.
Stop looking for the exit. Start looking for the entrance, the entrance to contribution, to teaching, and to building. Pakistan isn't just a piece of land; it is a heartbeat. And as long as we are breathing, this country is thriving.
Let’s stop asking what Pakistan has given us and start asking what we are leaving for the next generation.
I choose to stay. I choose to build. I choose to love Pakistan.

Celebrating Basant - Feb05,'26
ثقافت کو فروغ دیں، جانی نقصان اور تباہی کو نہیں! یہ ملک واقعی کمال ہے! تعلیم پہلے ہی سانسیں گن رہی ہے، مگر ہم نے سوچا کیوں نہ ایک اور تہوار ڈال کر اسے مکمل آرام دے دیا جائے۔ بسنت پر پچیس سال پرانی پابندی اب یادوں کا حصہ بن گئی ہے۔ وہ جانیں، وہ بجلی کے نظام، وہ حادثے سب شاید پرانی فائلوں میں دب گئے۔
اب خوشی دگنی ہے کیونکہ بسنت کے ساتھ ہفتہ اتوار بھی شامل ہیں۔ یعنی چار دن کی چھٹیاں۔ پڑھائی ویسے ہی مشکل لگتی تھی، اب کم از کم تسلسل کا جھنجھٹ بھی ختم۔
کہا جا رہا ہے کہ بسنت سے معیشت چلے گی۔ پتنگ بکے گی، ڈور بکے گی، بازار گرم ہوگا۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ اس پر کروڑوں روپے خرچ ہوتے ہیں مگر یہ خرچ پیداواری نہیں ہوتا۔ یہ پیسہ نہ نئی صنعت بناتا ہے، نہ مستقل روزگار پیدا کرتا ہے، نہ معیشت کو آگے لے جاتا ہے۔ چند دن کی خرید و فروخت ہوتی ہے، پھر سب کچھ ویسے کا ویسا۔ معیشت مضبوط تب ہوتی ہے جب سرمایہ تعلیم، ہنر اور کاروبار میں لگے، نہ کہ ڈور اڑانے میں۔
اصل مسئلہ شاید اس سے بھی گہرا ہے۔ ہماری قوم اسراف کی بیماری میں مبتلا ہے۔ کھلے خرچے، شاہ خرچیاں اور وقتی نمائش۔ دوسری طرف یہ حالت ہے کہ بڑی تعداد میں لوگ بھوکے ہیں، نوکریاں نہیں، روزگار کے مواقع ختم ہو رہے ہیں۔ ایک طرف چند دن کی تفریح پر کروڑوں اربوں، اور دوسری طرف دو وقت کی روٹی کے لیے جدوجہد۔
اور یہ سب ایسے وقت میں ہو رہا ہے جب مسلم امہ شدید بحران سے گزر رہی ہے۔ ف- ل- س- ط - ی-ن -ی تاریخ کے بدترین حالات میں ہیں، روزانہ جانیں جا رہی ہیں، گھر مٹ رہے ہیں۔ اور ہم ایک غیر پیداواری اور ماضی میں جان لیوا ثابت ہونے والے تہوار پر جشن منا رہے ہیں۔ سوال یہ نہیں کہ خوشی منانا غلط ہے، سوال یہ ہے کہ ترجیحات کہاں کھڑی ہیں۔
یہ سب دیکھ کر رومن یاد آتے ہیں ۔ جب وہ روٹی اور مقصدیت کم اور تماشے زیادہ دیتے تھے -
ہم نے بھی قوم کی حیثیت سے شاید وہی ماڈل اپنا لیا ہے۔ معیشت، تعلیم، روزگار، صحت اور امت کا درد بعد میں۔ پہلے پتنگ، ڈور اور رنگین آسمان۔
براہِ کرم اس بات کو دوبارہ پڑھیں اور جذبات یا مذہب کو درمیان میں لائے بغیر صرف دلائل اور حقائق پر جواب دیں۔ بات بالکل سادہ ہے۔
اگر صرف ایک انسان بھی اس وجہ سے مر جائے یا شدید زخمی ہو جائے تو یہی اس تقریب کو ہمیشہ کے لیے روکنے کے لیے کافی ہے۔ اگر بسنت منانی ہے تو کم از کم شہری اور رہائشی علاقوں میں پتنگ بازی کے بغیر منائی جائے۔
یہ صرف قانون یا انتظامیہ کا مسئلہ نہیں، یہ اجتماعی اخلاقیات اور اجتماعی ضمیر کا معاملہ ہے جو بدقسمتی سے کہیں گم ہو چکا ہے۔ ماضی میں سینکڑوں بلکہ ہزاروں لوگ اس وجہ سے جاں بحق ہو چکے ہیں یا عمر بھر کے لیے معذور ہوئے ہیں، اور میں یہاں مالی نقصانات یا املاک کے ضیاع کی بات بھی نہیں کر رہا۔
کیا یہ سب کافی نہیں؟
آخر کتنی مزید جانیں جائیں، کتنے مزید لوگ معذور ہوں، تب جا کر ہم رکیں گے؟
آخر میں ایک سادہ سا سوال۔ ہماری ترجیحات، غیرت، وقار، ایمان اور یکجہتی کہاں کھو گئی؟
ان سب کی فیملیز کو جواب ضرور دیں اور بسنت منانے کی ترغیب بھی دیں
