واپسی پر انجلینا جولی نے اقوام متحدہ میں اپنی رپورٹ پیش کی جس میں پاکستان کی بہت جگ ہنسائی ہوئی ، رپورٹ میں چند اہم باتوں کا ذکر ضروری سمجھتا ہوں۔

اس نے اپنی رپورٹ میں لکھا کہ مجھے یہ دیکھ کر شدید دکھ ہوا جب میرے سامنے حکومت کے بااثر افراد سیلاب سے متاثرین کو دھکے دیکر کر مجھ سے ملنے نہیں دے رہے تھے ۔ 

  

  مجھے اس وقت اور تکلیف ہوئی جب پاکستان کے وزیراعظم نے یہ خواہش ظاہر کی اور مجبور کیا کہ میری فیملی کے لوگ آپ سے ملنا چاہتے ہیں میں ان کی بے چینی دور کروں ، میرے انکار کے باوجود وزیراعظم کی فیملی مجھ سے ملنے کیلئے ملتان سے ایک خصوصی طیارے میں آئی اسلام آباد آئی اور میرے لئے قیمتی تحائف بھی لائی ، وزیراعظم کی فیملی نے میرے لئے کئی اقسام کے طعام میری دعوت کی ، ڈائننگ ٹیبل پر انواع اقسام کے کھانے دیکھ کر مجھے شدید رنج ہوا کہ ملک میں لوگ فاقوں سے مر رہے تھے اور یہ کھانا کئی سو لوگوں کیلئے کافی تھا جو صرف آٹے کے ایک تھیلے اور پانی کی ایک چھوٹی بوتل کیلئے ایک دوسرے کو دھکے دیکر ہماری ٹیم سے حاصل کرنے کے خواہشمند تھے ۔

مجھے حیرت ہوئی کہ ایک طرف بھوک ، غربت اور بد حالی تھی اور دوسری جانب وزیراعظم ہاؤس اور کئی سرکاری عمارتوں کی شان و شوکت ، ٹھاٹھ باٹھ ، حکمرانوں کی عیاشیاں تھیں ، یورپ والوں کو حیران کرنے کیلئے کافی تھا ۔

انجلینا جولی نے اقوام متحدہ کو مشورہ دیا کہ پاکستان کو مجبور کیا جائے کہ امداد مانگنے سے پہلے شاہی پروٹوکول ، عیاشیاں اور فضول اخراجات ختم کریں۔ 

اس پورے دورے کے دوران انجلینا جولی پاکستان کے میڈیا اور فوٹو سیشن سے دور رہنا پسند کیا۔ 

  

اس بات کو آج بارہ سال ہونے کے آئے ہیں اور اس رپورٹ سے پوری دنیا میں پاکستان کا وقار مجروح ہوا مگر ہم آج بھی اسی روش پر قائم ہیں ، آج بھی وہی صورت حال ہے ، ووٹر بھوکے مر رہے ہیں اور حکمرانوں کی عیاشیاں جاری وساری ہیں ، یہی حکمران رجیم چینج میں اربوں روپے کے عوض ضمیر خرید کرتے رہے مگر ان کے پاس عوام کو دینے کیلئے ایک ڈھیلا بھی نہیں ہے۔

- The movie has been finally allowed to be released in Sindh but the Punjab Government has banned its screening in local cinemas.

CPJ urges Pakistan govt to immediately release senior journalist Imran Riaz - July 09, 2022

The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has urged the PML-N-led government to immediately release senior journalist and Express News anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan and ensure that members of the press can work freely and without fear of reprisal.

Riaz, the most vocal critic of the ruling coalition, was arrested from Islamabad Toll Plaza late on Tuesday disregarding the fact that a court has already granted him a pre-arrest bail.

Imran Riaz has been implicated in a slew of cases which he says were motivated by his refusal to “stop speaking the truth”.

ہمیشہ سچ بولنا - زندگی اور بول چال سے چھوٹے چھوٹے جھوٹ بھی نکالنا

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم  ہمیشہ سچ بولتے تھے - اسلئے نبوت سے پہلے بھی وہ صادق اور امین کے لقب سے مشہور تھے - اور ہم ؟ سیاستدانوں نے تو اس معاملے میں حد پار کر رکھی ہے -صرف چند سیاستدان سچے ہیں -  ایک خاتون نے موجودہ ملازمہ کو کہا کہ ہم تین دن کیلئے کہیں  جارہے ہیں، اسلئے چھٹی کر لو - اصل میں اس سے جھوٹ بولا کیونکہ ایک دوسری ملازمہ کو اس کی جگہ رکھ کر تین دن کیلئے پرکھنا تھا - اب اس جھوٹ کی کیا ضرورت تھی ؟ صرف یہ کہہ دیتی کہ ہمیں ضروری کام ہے، اسلئے تم تین دن کیلئے چھٹی کر لو ، چاہے موجودہ ملازمہ کچھ بھی سوچ لیتی - کم از کم بے جا جھوٹ سے تو بچ جاتی - 

ہم بہت ساری باتیں کرتے ہیں اور اللہ اللہ کرتے ہیں  ، لیکن چھوٹے بڑے چھوٹ بولنے سے نہیں بچتے - تو پھر کیا فائدہ ایسے اسلام کا ؟ کیا اس طرح ہمیں رُوحانیت نصیب ہو سکتی ہے ؟ 

سچائی ایک سفر ہے - جو سچا بندہ ہوتا ہے وہ بہت شروع سے سچ بولنے کے سفر کو اپنا لیتے ہیں - کم از کم کوشش تو کر سکتے ہیں ورنہ جو دنیادار ہیں وہ دنیاوی فوائد حاصل کرنے کیلئے بڑی بڑی کہانیاں گھڑتے ہیں - سب دنیا دار ایسے نہیں ہوتے لیکن بہت سے لوگ ایسے ہی ہوتے ہیں - 

امتحان عملی زندگی میں آنے کے بعد شروع ہوتا ہے کہ ہم کتنا سچ بولتے ہیں - یعنی نوکری ، کاروبار ، شادی وغیرہ - اس سے پہلے سچ بولنا اتنا مشکل نہیں ہوتا البتہ سچائی کا مسافر تب ہی سے اس راہ پر گامزن ہو جاتا ہے - اَللہُ اکبَر

TREATMENT OF MINORITIES IN PAKISTAN AND RECENT KILLING OF PRIEST IN KARACHI - Jan 31, 2022

This topic needs lot of careful attention before we attempt to write something on it but unfortunately time is the silent enemy. Hence, I am only giving below comments by two readers posted on the Facebook news by 'The Express Tribune' (Pakistan) yesterday (30th Jan, 2022). To repeat, a Priest in Karachi was killed on Monday, 30th Jan, 2022.

 It is tragically ironic that as soon as such a news is posted by local leading English Newspapers of Pakistan, almost everybody starts commenting about mistreatment of minorities in Pakistan and 'intolerance' without even trying to understand everything. Anyhow it's a long debate and we do need to counter intolerance in Pakistan but it exists everywhere, even in the West at different levels.

Just three hours ago, today (Jan 31st, 2022), THE EXPRESS TRIBUNE reported on Facebook about the Funeral of Christian Pastor in Karachi and again mentioned about 'unidentified assailants' on the second day. But our Educated English Speaking Pakistanis lost control the very first day and immediately started commenting about 'intolerance' and 'mistreatment of minorities in Pakistanis'. As we see nothing has been found about killers even till the second day.

HERE ARE THE TWO COMMENTS - FIRST ONE IS BY SOMEONE ELSE AND SECOND ONE IS BY ME

FIRST: While this is an extremely unfortunate incident, minority killings are highlighted because they are very few in number in Pakistan. There is no evidence yet to suggest that this killing was due to the victims' religion and any claim about religious hatred towards these people being the reason for this attack is baseless. Wait for the investigation first people. A lot of muslim people are also gunned down in our country repeatedly and not due to their religion.

SECOND COMMENT (BY ME): While this is extremely sad news but much more Muslims are being killed in Pakistan than the minority elements. We do care about any human being in Pakistan regardless of his / her religion but this is no way to think minorities are treated wrongly in Pakistan. Exceptions are always there and racist crimes exist in the West also.

Mark Ruffalo, Susan Sarandon, Steve Coogan, Gael Garca Bernal, and Viggo Mortensen, among others, have endorsed Emma Watson, the Harry Potter actress, after her social media post about Palestinian solidarity drew ire from Israeli officials.

END NOTE: While we can share this piece of good news about how some Hollywood Actors have directly or indirectly supported the cause of Palestine, it should be remembered that being Muslims we should be careful about following these celebrities. It is because we know that our salvation lies in clinging to the principles of Islam as much as we can depending on our respective circumstances and environments. Hence, we need to draw some lines in between whenever we are addressing such issues. There is no doubt that many Non-Muslims are much finer human beings than many Muslims themselves though!

 This Sunday, I am sharing something different with all of you. It is an Award acceptance speech by an American actor of yesteryears and a time when REAL MEN graced the screen. I shared this video with friends on WhatsApp last year as well. The actor is none other than late Gregory Peck who is speaking at the occasion of accepting AFI life Achievement Award in 1989.
