Finality of death & our preparation - Jun'24

FINALITY OF DEATH AND OUR PREPARATION

The Big Three - June 2024

 THE BIG THREE

Welcome Stranger - May 2024

WELCOME STRANGER !! - May 2024

These days, we have a regular guest in our house. A dark brown cat. It seems it's stricken by current heat wave of summer. During the day, it rests in our porch but towards the evening, it sprawls on the metal lawn table where it is found all night. We have placed clay pots with water in the lawn under shade of trees for free birds and cats. It is a form of 'Sadqa' and should be maintained in both summer and winter!

REALITY OF LIFE - Dec.24,'23

REALITY OF LIFE
By reaching this stage in life, the lion can no longer hunt, kill or defend itself.
It roars and roars until it weakens, then it will be surrounded by the Hyenas, nibbled and devoured.

They won't even let him die to be dismembered.

Life is short, what happens to the lion also happens to us humans.

We won't be young forever.
We won't always be the strongest.
We won't always be on top.
We won't always be the boss.
We won't always be the king of the jungle or king of life.

As long as God and life gives us opportunities, let's be humble, remove arrogance and mistreatment.

Because sooner or later, life will pass us a bill and we will reap just what we sow.

CAREER - You Are Very Much On Time !! - May 2023

YOU ARE VERY MUCH ON TIME

This is an old post on Internet (as copied from Linkedin.com) but still has the potential to inspire you every time you read it again. It tells us that we should be humble in spite of our positions and / or be hopeful in spite of serious setbacks. However, without hard work and consistency nothing is accomplished in the world. Secondly, success also depends on how good we are in adapting ourselves to the changing world and its dynamics. Are we learning new skills needed in our relevant field and updating ourselves with the latest knowledge? People who lack progressive approach are quickly left behind and they have to pay attention to keeping up with the continuous advancements in technology or any training required as per their strengths and weaknesses. - S Roman Ahsan (May 2023)

Someone graduated at the age of 22, but waited 5 years before securing a good job.

Someone became a CEO at 25, and died at 50.
While another became a CEO at 50, and lived to 90 years.

Someone is still single, while someone from his school group has become grandfather.

Obama retired at 55 & Trump started at 70.

Everyone in this world works based on their time zone.

People around you might seem ahead of you & some might seem to be behind you.

But everyone is running their own race, in their own time.

Do not envy them.
They are in their time zone, and you are in yours.

So, relax.

You're not late.
You're not early.
You are very much on time.

Cat on doorstep - May 04, 2023

 CAT ON DOORSTEP - May 04, 2023

This beautiful young cat has been visiting our house at night time since a few weeks and she's very friendly unlike other stray cats who run away from a distance. She gets closer and snuggles against my legs and even let me pet her.

I tried to feed her in Ramzan but then I learned that we should not feed our regular home made food to cats as it can cause stomach illnesses. Not even milk, because cats are lactose intolerant.

This cat has a striking grey brown pattern and beautiful eyes. But she does not visit our house daily. Sometimes when I am going out to nearby stores at night, I find her sitting on the doormat outside.

I am still trying to figure out what to feed her as she visits only occasionally. Chicken meat can be fed to her I think. Stray dogs can be fed chicken necks (bought at a cheap price than other chicken meat) but I don't know about cats.

How we can help Mother Earth - May 2023

HOW WE CAN HELP MOTHER EARTH - May 2023

Eleven people died due to heatstroke after they attended a large public gathering in the open in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

The temperature of our globe is increasing with every passing day. Nevertheless, nothing significant is being done in this regard. Only false and fallacious pledges are being made. If we want to see our planet habitable, we ought to take some immediate and stringent measures. First of all, the use of fossil fuels must be minimized, if not completely avoided. Second, other renewable sources of energy must be sought and explored. Third, deforestation must be stopped and afforestation must be promoted. Last, eco-friendly initiatives must be brought forth to keep things under control so that they do not spiral out of control.

SMART THINKING - April 25, 2023

SMART THINKING - April 25, 2023

Smart thinking is needed not just at the workplace but in day to day matters also. On the second day of Eid, one of our relatives visited us and brought a bundle of six Coca-Cola bottles (one and a half liter). It's been ages since this hospitality custom ended due to awareness of harms of cold drinks. I myself take only a 250 ml bottle of soft drink just once a week since 20 years, even in Summers.

I told her that we could not accept that bundle but she insisted. So I kept it. But next day, yesterday, I sold that bundle to a general store at the same price of Rs. 780/- which the salesmen from Coke demand from store owners. They in turn charge the customers Rs. 900/- for the whole bundle or sell one bottle @ Rs. 150/-.

That way I did not have to keep the soft drink bottles. This is smart thinking 😊

Eid is over now and we are at the threshold of a new era. We have to fight to survive for "Tough times don't last but tough people do!"

Take A Walk Daily !! - Mar13,'23

Take A Walk Daily !!

If we could only somehow discipline ourselves. We have grown so much used to passive lifestyles!! Everybody needs exercise, mind you. Regular exercise is essential not just for people affected with heart-diseases, diabetes, depression etc. but for all adults. Walking is the best exercise as it is most convenient for people of all ages. The healthcare experts advise that a normal person should carry out some form of exercise 5-6 days a week for at least 20-30 minutes. But make it a brisk walk where you sweat and your heart pumps. Jogging and weight-training are also recommended but starting these at a later age might bring some health problems. Consult a healthcare expert or family physician also in this regard. Remember that for exercise, you have to take some time apart from your ordinary routine in life.

It is best to take a walk in a park nearby but if we don't have such a facility then we still have to find some other way we can carry out walking on daily basis. People with very busy life schedules keep a Treadmill, Cycling-machine or Elliptical Trainer etc. at home if they cannot proceed to a gym or park after a busy day at office. They have to choose the home exercise machine which best suits their needs after consultation with health experts, family physician etc. or any close person who is experienced in these matters.

If one can afford, then one can keep a home exercise machine even if one is in the habit of exercising outdoors. This allows a person to not skip exercise for any day if one is not able to proceed out of one's house due to weather conditions or any time constraint.

During Ramazan, the daily routine of most Muslims gets upset and they find it difficult to take some time out even if they are in the habit of exercising regularly. It is a given fact that though Taraaveeh prayers are not absolute 'fardh' (obligatory) in Islam but offering them after Iftar also substitutes as a form of regular exercise apart from reaping spiritual benefits.

Regular exercise carried out over years (next to paying special attention to diet) contributes to our overall health and builds up our immune system against diseases. One can notice positive changes in physical and mental capacities after just a week of starting an exercise routine. It may prevent the risk of heart-diseases and diabetes also apart from making one feel generally active and energetic to handle different kinds of tasks.

It is difficult at first to start any exercise routine but we need to motivate ourselves with strong will-power. Once it becomes a habit after some period of time then we can continue it for life. Even then, laziness can creep in many times but we need to keep fighting it for 'health is wealth' also!

So take some time out instead of sitting or relaxing in front of mobile phones, laptops or TV screens all the time and invest it in a good life!
