Special prayer on 25th Ramadan

Special prayer on 25th Ramadan

Assalam-o-Alaikum: Today is Jumma'tul Wida and tonight is the fourth odd night - 27th Ramadan. Please let's devote time for prayers ('nawaafil') or other forms of worship as much as we can. Ask for pardon of our sins and remember when we ask for Allah's blessings, those blessing do not revolve around wealth and position in society only. In fact, the more important things are peace of heart, inclination towards truth, turning towards Allah in our daily lives in spite of our troubles and caring for each other. Of course, we should pray for ease and success in our affairs also and that includes our careers, education and social lives. But pray for the whole world and seek help from Allah to rescue the Muslim world from being under oppression since so many centuries. Pray for the early appearance of Imam Al-Mahdi (ra) and return of Prophet Jesus (pbuh) for it is a belief carried by those who believe in sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) or Ahadith. Please pray especially for Gaza, Syria, Pakistan and Dr. Aafia Siddiqui apart from all others who are suffering in the world, be it Muslims or Non-Muslims. Pray that the real terrorists behind the terrorism situation in Pakistan be punished and that the Pakistan Army is able to engage itself in a just war against the real terrorists without the loss of innocent people. And may Allah protect our Armed forces also from the conspiracies of our enemies to weaken their power. May He change the hearts of our rulers and grant them wisdom to serve our nation more sincerely and according to the principles of Islam!

Pray also that Allah may guide our hearts towards truth and may we be able to understand each other and unite. May we be able to grasp the right message of Islam and may we be able to apply the jewels of Islam to our lives!

Lastly, pray that all the oppression against Gaza and other parts of the Muslim world ends and may Allah destroy the oppressors through His Unlimited Power!!

May Allah listen to us this Ramadan and pardon our sins for we are indeed wrong-doers and sinners. - Aameen.

Facebook and I

Facebook and I

Assalam-o-Alaikum! I did not share Hitler quotes on killing Jews and I did not share any Football World cup highlights since I haven't seen any sports event since at least 20 years (though I was a keen sportsman myself with participation in lawn tennis, football, badminton, table tennis and cricket). But I am not saying that Israel is not ugly or that sports is bad. I am just saying it is my journey and many can't understand it since I have had a very different life compared to others. It does not mean I was into poverty, I was blessed in many ways but it means some other disastrous happenings which are not normal. But I am not an activist on Facebook only and Al-hamdulillah have been following a trail since 2005 with Islam as my passion foremost. All the oppression in the world is mostly being conducted against the Muslim world and we cannot just be a silent spectator. May God bless you and may we all learn from each other, provided there is anything positive.

Regards,
Syed Roman Ahsan.

Boycotting Israeli Brands?

BOYCOTTING ISRAELI BRANDS?

AoA: Revised post on boycotting Israeli brands. Some new points added in the article are given below in bullet points. Plus I have now myself switched from Nestle yogurt to local brand ADAMS (an old local firm based in Sahiwal that manufactures dairy products like cheese & others). Also, the cost of Nestle yogurt is Rs. 85 while ADAMS yogurt costs Rs. 75.

POINTS ADDED IN THE ARTICLE:

·         It would be easier for us to boycott luxury items or high-priced brands or restaurants but some products and brands fall in the category of daily consumption habits!

·         Some other brands of yogurt launched by local companies like 'Adams' and others are appearing in the market also, and we see some hope.

·         Gourmet Foods and Engro Foods apart from other local companies are the ones which are striving in these times to offer reasonable good-quality food products and brands to the people of Pakistan. And they need all our support.

·         It is a fact that though we learn from the presence of these Multinational firms but they are exploiting us for their own interests and reaping big profits at the expense of our country's growth.

·         The big fish eats the small fish, so local firms find it difficult to compete with the Multinational firms and many times their businesses are not able to flourish.

·         Hence we need to fight the overall system in Pakistan and the world for our independent survival.

BOYCOTTING ISRAELI BRANDS - WHAT DOES IT REALLY INVOLVE?

Every time Gaza is attacked by Israel, Muslims around the globe start talking about boycotting those brands and companies which support the economy of Israel directly or indirectly. Let's analyze the issue: http://bit.ly/1n1pACj

Right-wing or Left-wing?

RIGHT-WING OR LEFT-WING?

These days we hear a lot of talk about right-wing or left-wing. We should know that Islam is the final message of God (Allah) and Muslims are being oppressed everywhere in the world. In Islam, there is no concept of right-wing or left-wing. There is only the concept of being a believer or non-believer.

It is Islam being targetted especially after 9/11 which was an inside job. If we are Muslims, then we should defend Islam and feel the pain of Ummah!

Shocking Gaza Updates - 21, July, 2014

Shocking Gaza Updates - 21, July, 2014

First of all, salute to Turkish President for threatening Israel of military offensive if attack on Gaza is not stopped. Also, ISIS in Iraq is calling for Caliphate by killing rival groups very unjustly. They say ISIS is a funded group and not representing true Islam. If all this is true, then Muslims need to beware...

Height of Arrogance by Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu

Exact words of Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu to Hillary Clinton:

“I know you are very concerned about Civilian casualties. We do not share your concern about civilian casualties at all.  In fact we are conducting these surgical operations against schools, mosques, hospitals, universities, children. And one of the things we are doing is trying to maximize the number of civilian casualties. We prefer that.  I know you understand this but if not this is something I don’t have to explain to Americans, President Obama, You and the International community. Welcome to Jerusalem.”

"My neighbourhood" - A documentary

[MUST WATCH] - "My neighbourhood" - A fine documentary on how some Jews in West Jerusalem are standing up for the rights of Palestinians - but this is filmed before the recent attack on Gaza. However, it would be difficult to fight the influence of Zionists.

Some notes on Ramadan

Some Notes on Ramadan:

Ramadan comes and Ramadan goes every year. For men, it is the best time to form the habit of visiting mosques for regular prayers for whole year (depending on their circumstances/situation & Salah could be offered in office-time in congregation also). Still, the experience of 'Taraweeh' is very spiritually uplifting also where we listen to recitation of Holy Qur'an. Sadly, some people have time for Iftar parties and even outings on Sehr now but no time for mosque. We can at least try to offer 8-12 rikka if not 20. In Ramadan, a good deed is rewarded 70 times by Allah!
