Aitchison Principal resigns over Punjab Governor's interference
in college affairs - March 2024
Michael A. Thomson, the Principal of Lahore's esteemed Aitchison College, has resigned from his position due to disagreements with the Punjab Governor.
Thomson's resignation was prompted by changes in policies that seemed to favor specific individuals, leading to what he described as 'bad governance'. He highlighted his departure as a result of mental stress arising from co*nflicts with the governor, particularly regarding the waiving of fines for a federal minister's children.
Emphasizing the importance of keeping politics and nepotism out of educational institutions, Thomson expressed disbelief at the extent of interference in college affairs.
It's worth noting that Thomson had previously resigned in 2018 but withdrew his resignation following persuasion from then-governor Muhammad Sarwar.
In response, Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman clarified the situation regarding the fee waiver for Federal Minister Ahad Cheema's children. He explained that the waiver was granted because the children had ceased attending Aitchison College and had relocated to Islamabad. Despite this, they received a fee notice, which was subsequently waived.

Rabbis believe that they need to sacrifice a red heifer (cow) prior to construction of third temple at the site of Mosque Al-Aqsa and this is not a conspiracy theory, rather confirmed as per by many Christian Commentators - the attached video talks about bringing 5 red heifers to the occupied land just recently. The current genocide in Gaza also has a reason and motivation for Israel. Will they succeed in their nefarious designs to destroy Mosque Al-Aqsa (God forbid)?
