Goodbye Bollywood - Oct.2016
GOODBYE BOLLYWOOD
When I was growing up in in 1970s as a child, Indian Doordarshan TV channel was able to relay in Lahore. Indian Bollywood movies were shown in the evening twice a week and we used to eagerly wait for them. It was a treat if a good movie with good cast was shown (a favourite hero and heroine).
TV was black and white but we still used to fully enjoy the movies (apart from Hollywood movies and other shows on TV). In those days, a hero was a hero with good moral principles. He would always be a good and warm person who cared for his parents, siblings and everyone around him. Of course, a film hero had to be good-looking also. He used to fall in love with a beautiful girl whom he wanted to 'marry' :) and not any illicit relationships as shown nowadays, There would be a villain or a gang also, so this was the typical kind of story those days.
Today, there is little morality in most Bollywood movies. We should say goodbye to them and also because now there is revival of Islam after 9/11 (and not just terrorism funded by our enemies).
Hence we need to focus more on how to achieve spirituality. And by spirituality it is meant 'Islamic spirituality' unlike the false glitter of "modern-day Sufism".
When we give up some 'colours' for the sake of ALLAH and strive a little harder, only then we can achieve some level of spirituality.

ضیاء الحق کا دورہ ہندوستان
انڈیا ٹو ڈے کے نامہ نگار اپنے مضمون "ضیاء الحق کا دورہ ہندوستان" میں راجیو گاندھی کے خصوصی مشیر "بہرامنام " کے تاثرات یوں لکھتے ہیں ۔۔۔۔۔!!!
" جنرل ضیاءالحق بغیر کسی دعوت کے کرکٹ میچ دیکھنے کے بہانے دہلی پہنچے ۔ اس وقت راجیو گاندھی اس کو ائر پورٹ پر ریسیو کرنے کے لیے بالکل تیار نہیں تھے ۔ انڈین افواج راجھستان سیکٹر سے پاکستان پر حملہ آور ہونے کے لیے صرف اپنے وزیر اعظم کی حکم کی منتظر تھیں ۔ ان حالات میں ضیاء الحق سے ملنا ہرگز مناسب نہیں تھا ۔ لیکن کیبنٹ کے اراکین اور اپوزیشن لیڈرز کا خیال تھا کہ کسی دعوت نامے کے بغیر بھی ضیاء الحق کی دہلی آمد ( وہاں سے انہوں نے چنائی جانا تھا میچ دیکھنے) پر اس کا استقبال نہ کرنا سفارتی آداب کے خلاف ہوگا اور ان حالات میں پوری دنیا میں انڈین لیڈرز کے بارے میں غلط فہمی پھیلی گی ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔!
ہمارے مطالبے پر راجیو گاندھی ضیاء الحق سے ملنے ائر پورٹ پہنچا اور اس نے نہایت سرد مہری سے ضیاء کی آنکھوں میں دیکھے بغیر اس سے ہاتھ ملایا ۔ راجیو نے مجھے سے کہا کہ " جنرل صاحب نے چنائی میچ دیکھنے جانا ہے آپ اس کے ساتھ جائیں اور ان کا خیال رکھیں "۔ بھگوان جانتا ہے کہ وہ شخص آہنی اعصاب کا مالک تھا اور راجیو کے ہتک آمیز رویے پر بھی اس کے چہرے پر بدستور مسکراہٹ قائم رہی ۔۔۔۔۔!!
چنائی کے لیے روانگی کے وقت ضیاء الحق نے راجیو گاندھی کو خدا حاٖفظ کہنے سے پہلے کہا ۔۔۔۔۔۔" مسٹر راجیو آپ پاکستان پر حملہ کرنا چاہتے ہیں بے شک کریں ۔ لیکن یہ ذہن میں ضرور رکھیں کہ اس کے بعد دنیا چنگیز خان اور ہلاکو خان کو بھول جائے گی اور صرف ضیاءالحق اور راجیو گاندھی کو یاد رکھے گی ۔ کیونکہ یہ ایک روائیتی جنگ نہیں ہوگی بلکہ ایٹمی جنگ ہوگی ۔ ممکنہ طور پر اس میں پورا پاکستان تباہ ہو جائے گا لیکن مسلمان پھر بھی دنیا میں باقی رہیں گے تاہم انڈیا کی تباہی کے بعد ہندومت کا پوری دنیا سے خاتمہ ہو جائے گا۔ "
راجیو گاندھی کے پیشانی پر ٹھنڈے پسینے کے قطرے نمودار ہو چکے تھے ۔ جبکہ مجھے اپنی ریڑھ کی ہڈی میں سنسناہٹ محسوس ہو رہی تھی ۔ صرف کچھ لمحات کے لیے ضیاء الحق ہمیں ایک نہایت خطرناک شخص نظر آیا ۔ اس کا چہرہ پتھرایا ہوا تھا اور اسکی آنکھوں سے لگ رہا تھا کہ وہ جو کچھ کہہ رہا ہے اس پر لازمً عمل کرے گا اور پورے بر صغیر کو ایٹمی جنگ کی مدد سے راکھ میں تبدیل کر دے گا ۔
میں دہل کر رہا گیا تھا ۔۔۔۔۔۔ پلک جھپکتے ہی ضیاء کے چہرے پر مسکراہٹ لوٹ آئی اور اس نے کھڑے دیگر لوگوں سے نہایت گرم جوشی سے ہاتھ ملایا ۔ میرے اور راجیو کے علاوہ کوئی نہیں جانتا تھا کہ بظاہر ہلکے پھلکے اور خوشگوار موڈ میں نظر آنے والے ضیاء الحق نے انڈین وزیر اعظم کے لیے شدید پریشانی پیدا کر دی ہے۔

Raiwind March - Some Recommendations
RAIWIND
MARCH – SOME RECOMMENDATIONS
LHC has allowed Raiwind March to be held on 30th
September. Some recommendations in this connection:
1- It
is the right of any political party to hold a rally but everything should be
conducted in a ‘mature’ manner without glamourizing anything.
2- A
political leader should not get carried away while describing anything against
his opponent. He should strictly stick to facts and remain composed. Fairness
is above all!
3- A
political leader should act like a political leader and not like the head of a
music group in a concert.
4- Loud
music shows poor taste in such rallies. Especially rocking your head while
standing on stage or container on the beat of such music if you are a political
leader. Act sensible please and study how our Quaid used to address rallies !!
5- Ladies
(women, girls) should not be allowed to participate in the rally after sunset.
After all, the concerned political leader has talked many times about “Khulfa-e-Rashideen”
or the early Caliphs of Islam in his speeches. He must know that a certain code
of conduct is required in situations with regards to ladies in Islam.
6- Also
study about the right ruling system in Islam. Is Electoral-Political system of
Democracy really that which is prescribed in Islam? After all, you claim to
love Islam!
7- Put
trust in ALLAH Almighty and do the right thing. The aim should not be to
attract people but to lead them to truth.
8- Some
of your efforts and measures taken are really good. But you need to further
come out of your shell and re-affirm your faith in ALLAH. May peace prevail in Pakistan and the world - Aameen.
