Educated Muslims & Masjid Scene in Pakistan

EDUCATED MUSLIMS & CURRENT SCENE OF MASJID IN PAKISTAN:

Educated Muslims who offer their regular prayers (not just Jumm'ah and Eid prayers) at a Masjid in Pakistan should not be discouraged by what they see in the house of ALLAH. In most cases, we see few educated people coming to Masjid for regular prayers and an educated person might feel like an alien there at times. However, humility is one of the precious lessons of Islam and visitors of a Masjid should relate to all other members with respect and greet them with Salaam, even if it is not necessary to befriend people there or think about forming lasting friendships.

Still, we can always find some people in Masjid who are both good Muslims and good human beings as well (even though being a good human falls under being a good Muslim), and learn from them. A Masjid provides a clean environment free of all modern-day evils and helps build the foundation of spirit of 'Taqwa' (abstinence from sins) in an individual. And most of all, it is an Islamic obligation for a male to offer his regular prayers in congregation (preferably in Masjid but jamaat can be formed anywhere if access to Masjid is difficult due to some specific conditions). We should invite fellow Muslims to offer Salah in a Masjid also but without forcing or annoying anyone. May ALLAH Almighty (swt) guide all of us to the right path - Aameen.

- S Roman Ahsan.
