Getting Rid of or Fighting Evil

Peace and prosperity, is what they dream about. If we talk about our own country, Pakistan, its people are divided into different groups each one claiming to be righteous. Social media buzzes with posts day and night with political activists defending their parties and in some cases rightly so depending on what their views are!

Getting rid of evil is not simply like a "ON-OFF" button. There is a continuous and long struggle involved.

The approach which we should have on foremost basis is 'trying' to do everything as per the commandments of Allah and His Prophet (pbuh). And for that we need to nourish our faith and clear our concepts on Islam by following 'different' proper scholars of Islam and reading good books on Islam also. We should stress on different scholars because if one follows just one scholar of Islam, then one can be misguided in these times.

The goal should be to have at least clear views on basic concepts of Islam on worship acts, social lives, Muslim state and our relationships towards people. Like, is Islam about "liberalism" or "conservatism"? Is Nationalism part of Islam? Is democracy accepted in Islam? If we love our country, we should aspire to do everything within the framework or teachings of Islam and not blindly pursue Nationalism as in the Western world.

Islam imparts us a special lens with which we view the world differently though our learning should never end till we depart for the next world. Along with it, we can continue with our worldly goals also and with time we can learn how to align them with the true spirit of Islam.
