IS IT NECESSARY TO OFFER TARAWEEH PRAYERS? ARE WE MISSING SOMETHING?
Taraween prayers in Ramzan are observed in Pakistan and many other Muslim countries. It is important to know that they though it is not absolute 'fardh' to offer Taraweeh prayers but since whole Holy Qur'an is recited in Taraweeh prayers, hence they carry lot of spiritual benefits for Muslims. It is not just matter of belief but a reality.
Secondly, in Ramzan since most of us are unable to undertake any physical exercise on daily basis due to our change in routines, hence offering Taraweeh prayers acts as a substitute for physical exercise. The process of standing, bending in Rukku position and then prostrating twice in one Rikkah, stimulates the muscles of our whole body and blood circulation. It is recommended that if one is unable to offer full 20 Rikkahs, then he should try to offer as much Rikkah he can.
Taraweeh is a Nafil worship act of a Muslim thus greatly rewarded and in Ramzan we should try to renew our bond with Almighty Allah.
