YAUM-E-TAKBEER - May 28, 2026
“Youm-e-Takbeer” is being observed today to commemorate Pakistan’s nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998, which established the country’s credible and strong defence capability.
On this historic day, Pakistan became the seventh nuclear power in the world and the first Muslim-majority nation to possess a nuclear arsenal for its defence.
The nuclear tests at RasKoh Hills in Chaghai district, Balochistan, were carried out by a team of Pakistani scientists led by Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan and Dr Samar Mubarakmand.
These tests demonstrated Pakistan’s resolve to safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence, while also maintaining strategic balance in South Asia.
