VIDEO - Why Muslims should not celebrate Christmas

NOTE: This is a Facebook video so you can log in to view it but if you don't have a FB account then you may still be able to see it. Secondly, as far as Christian minorities in Pakistan are concerned, of course we should let them celebrate the event but without participation by Muslims.

A sensitive topic for youngsters

Is Masturbation allowed if it stops you from committing the actual act of zina?

Below is an answer on a website followed by my view on it.

Both fornication and masturbation are sinful, harmful and detrimental to one’s spirituality and physical well being. One should avoid all sin and not try to justify a sin as being less detrimental.

Almighty Allah states “Success is really attained by the believers …. who guard their private parts except from their wives or from those (bondwomen who are) owned by their hands, as they are not to be blamed. However, those who seek (sexual pleasure) beyond that are the transgressors” (Quran 23:1-7)

MY VIEW ON IT BUT I AM NOT AN ISLAMIC SCHOLAR - S Roman Ahsan.

According to some Islamic philosophers, if masturbation prevents from greater sins like fornication then it is not forbidden. But it should not be done frequently and yes, efforts need to be made against it by indulging in fasting, prayers, zikr and pure environments. However, some men have higher sexual desire than others and masturbation could be good for them according to psychologists (still they also have to make efforts against it spiritually).

Getting married is not so easy for many young men and they have to wait till they are 30. This is very bad custom and men should marry when they are 25. Also, a male student will not be able to fast on regular basis as he would need energy for studies and other physical acts. Still, he should try to fast at least on every Monday which is the day our dear Prophet (pbuh) also essentially fasted (apart from Ramadan also). He used to fast on Thursdays also.

Masturbation is done by boys after they discover it. And due to advent of media and TV in every home, men are exposed to different stimuli which provoke them into wrong acts. Men cannot totally avoid evil but do their utmost best. If they fall victim to it, they should repent and seek forgiveness of Allah. But don't feel so guilty after it though try to fortify yourself against it.

I am not an Islamic Scholar and consult proper men of Allah and others in this regard. May ALLAH guide us and protect us - Aameen.

Still Waiting for a leader - by S Roman Ahsan

STILL WAITING FOR A LEADER!

By S Roman Ahsan

- 10th December, 2018 - 2nd Rabi Al-Akhar, 1440

It is not easy to understand and embrace a new set of ideologies if we have spent our entire life chasing an altogether different dream but then we should not claim perfection!

True Muslims hate not just Godlessness but extremism in all forms. The latest is that our national leader disappoints once again. Imran Khan is saying repeatedly that he wants to create Madinah State but he is unnecessarily giving land to Sikhs in Pakistan to build their hotel etc to complement them in their religious rituals.

This is not the way of our Dear Prophet (pbuh). You should give religious freedom to minorities and protect their worshipping places but never strengthen the Non-Muslims in their religious practices so much. Instead, as a Muslim, you should invite them to truth of Islam for the only true religion is Islam (Islam is perfect, the Muslims are not). But you are rather fortifying the Sikhs to follow their own religion which denies Oneness of God i.e. Almighty Allah.

Let the same old benefits for Sikhs prevail in Pakistan and no need to go to extremes with such measures to prove ourselves as peacekeepers. Sikh pilgrims from India have been accommodated in Pakistan before also since ages. You want to create peace and friendly ties with neighbouring countries? It should not be at the cost of our final abode in afterlife!

You are also trying to please Hindus by cutting cake on Diwali when it is a basic belief of a Muslim never to participate in the religious festivities of Hindus as those are based on paying tribute to their false gods and goddesses. By doing so, one acknowledges their false gods. You need to fear Allah and get your basic concepts of Islam right before you keep repeating like a parrot that you want to create a Madinah State. Shirk (associating partners with Allah) is the greatest sin in Islam and we have to be very careful in this regard lest we offend our Lord, Almighty Allah.

The first responsibility of the Muslim is to believe in One God i.e. Almighty Allah. Shirk is not merely a “sin;” it is the absolute worst sin. This is because it is disbelief in the existence of One God.

If a person commits shirk, then he does not believe in Allah. How so? It’s because Allah has attributes. In order to believe in Allah, you must believe in His attributes. Among those attributes are attributes of Oneness and Absolute Uniqueness (ie. He has no similarities of any kind to anything else). But if a person commits shirk, then he believes that there is something similar to Allah in at least one of Allah’s attributes. And by believing that, he has failed to believe either in Allah’s Oneness or in Allah’s Absolute Uniqueness. (Explanation by Ian Hunt, B.A. Islamic Sharia Law & Islamic Creed).

We Muslims believe in Islam as the culmination of the final message of the Almighty foremost. Our thoughts and actions should be governed by the principles of Islam. Imran Khan’s ignorance and arrogance has shown that he is not really keen about enforcing Islamic way of governance in Pakistan. And he is not making any efforts to distinguish between what is right and what is wrong as per Islam. He is mostly surrounded by hardcore secular associates with little interest in Islam except for few. Our information minister for example is devoid of basic teachings of Islam which speaks volumes on how some important positions have been allocated. The masses in Pakistan are fools and easily turned on by glamour and rhetoric.

We have to wait in Pakistan for a mighty Muslim leader to take charge in future who would work for the glory and supremacy of Islam in sha Allah in all spheres while not shunning principles of due compassion for all. Yes, we are still waiting and we have to pray for that on regular basis!

Surah Ale Imran Verse 110

السلام علیکم

You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah . If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.

Life Has Different Moments

LIFE HAS DIFFERENT MOMENTS

Yesterday I took my laptop to a small mobile shop near Lahore Cantt as it had some problems that needed to be fixed. I know the owner since some years and he has a collection of movies also as computer files for sale. He just charges 20 Rs. per movie. I don't watch movies regularly now (only rarely) but he transfers movies to my system for free as I pay him for his other services. Last year I got "Gone with the wind (1939)" from him and I visited him after an year now. Yesterday, I saw he had the whole series of "The Lord of the Rings film trilogy" including the "Hobbitt" series and he saved all 6 movies in my system.

Some people think that "The Lord of the Rings film trilogy" are films for children. They are wrong and elders have also equally enjoyed these movies. I watched the third part "Return of the King" of The Lord of the Rings film trilogy in 2005 and enjoyed it immensely. But I haven't watched the whole series which I am now looking forward to

The Love of Animals in Islam

A MUST READ 🔔

The Love of Animals in Islam💯💫💕

NOTE: The image above might not truly depict love of animals but nevertheless there is 'human touch' involved

Mistreating animals is considered a sin in Islam. A Muslim is responsible for the care of animals so much so that an mistreated animal will testify against the one who abused it on the Day of Judgment. Islam forbids branding animals and killing them in vain, such as for sport. Our dear Prophet (pbuh) forbade people to capture birds, burn anthills, and whip animals. Even in slaughtering animals for food, Islam requires that the slaughtering be done according to Islamic procedure, which is humane and aims to cause the animals as little suffering as possible. As humans, we have a responsibility towards every living creature.

Abu Hurayrah (ra) was a close Companion of the Prophet (pbuh) and has narrated more hadiths, or sayings of the Prophet (pbuh), than any other Companion. He was known for being very sympathetic and loving towards animals so much so that although his name was `Abdur-Rahman, he was known as Abu Hurayrah, meaning “father of the kitten.” He was called so because of a small cat that he used to feed and care for and carry with him everywhere he went.

Cats in Islam:

The Prophet (pbuh) taught mercy to all of God’s creation. There are many reports of his love for cats resulting in their historical acceptance among Muslims. Cats were very common among the people during the time of the Prophet (pbuh), and he said, “They (cats) are not impure and they intermingle with you.”1 The cat is such a clean animal that according to authentic narrations one may make ablution for Prayer with the same water that a cat drank from. Yet, it is known that some people nowadays have opposed the traditions of the Prophet (pbuh) by taking up the evil practices of torturing and poisoning cats. In Islam, punishment for such acts is severe. Both Al-Bukhari and Muslim reported a hadith regarding a woman who locked up a cat, refusing to feed it and not releasing it so that it could feed itself. The Prophet (pbuh) said that her punishment on the Day of Judgment will be torture and Hell.

Dogs in Islam:

Many Muslims have misunderstood Islam’s teachings regarding dogs, and this misunderstanding has led to the mistreatment of these animals. The Prophet (pbuh) said, “Purifying a container that a dog has licked (in order for human’s to use it) is done by washing it seven times, the first washing being with dirt." However, according to some scholars, a dog’s fur is considered pure. Nonetheless, Muslims are discouraged from keeping dogs inside their homes, as the Prophet (pbuh) has been reported as saying that angels do not enter into a house that has a dog.

However, just because one does not keep a dog inside the home and doesn't drink after it, that does not give one the right to neglect it, mistreat it, or kill it. The usefulness of this creature of Allah is indisputable. No other animal can compete with it in its loyalty to its caregiver, its abilities as a guard, and its talent for hunting. In fact, the Holy Qur’an narrates in Surat Al-Kahf, or “The Cave,” the story of some pious youths who took refuge in a cave from the persecution and violence of the unbelievers. That these righteous people had a dog with them, and the fact that Allah mentions the dog and counts the dog among them, indicates that dogs are permitted to live among people. [And you would have thought them awake, whereas they were asleep. And We turned them on their right and on their left sides, and their dog stretching forth his two forelegs at the entrance (of the cave as a guard)] (Al-Kahf 18:18).

So dogs may be used for guards as well as for hunting, as the Qur’an also states: [They ask you about what is lawful for them (as food); Say: Lawful unto you are (all) things good and pure: and those beasts and birds of prey which you have trained as hounds, training and teaching them (to catch) in a manner as directed to you by Allah; so eat what they catch for you, but pronounce the name of Allah over it and fear Allah, for Allah is swift in reckoning] (Al-Ma’idah 5:4).

In two separate hadiths narrated by Abu Hurayrah (the cat-loving Companion), the Prophet (pbuh) told his Companions of the virtue of saving the life of a dog by giving it water and quenching its thirst: one referred to was a man who was blessed by Allah for giving water to a thirsty dog. The other was a prostitute, who filled her shoe with water and gave it to a dog that was lolling its tongue in thirst. For this deed she was granted the ultimate reward: eternal Paradise. (According to one narration, basically the woman received Allah's blessing due to that act and repented in front of Allah changing her life hence being enabled for the ultimate reward, the Paradise).

Islam asks people to reflect upon this and be aware of each person’s duty toward God’s creatures, which He has put on earth for our use, not for our abuse. When the Prophet (pbuh) was asked if Allah rewarded acts of charity to the animals, he replied, “Yes, there is a reward for acts of charity to every beast alive.”

Jabir reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by an animal that had been branded upon its face. He said, “Allah has cursed whoever does this; let not one of you mark the face or strike it.”

This Maulana Sahib has great guts and the courage to tell truth in front of rulers. It is true that during the reign of first Caliph of Islam Hadhrat Abu-Bakr Siddique (ra), Jihad was done against the false prophet Musailma Kazzaab and his companions. This is how delicate the matter of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat (Finality of Prophethood) is for Muslims because the basic foundation of Islam rests on it.

Today however, since many generations of followers of false prophet Mirza Qadiyani have passed, we need to preach to them with peace, love and tolerance, and at the same time be ware of this false faith lest we fall victims to it ourselves (God forbid).

J. R. R. Tolkien - Author of 'The Lord of the Rings'

J. R. R. TOLKIEN - Author of 'The Lord of the Rings'

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1892 – 1973) was the author of the high fantasy series 'The Lord of the Rings'. He was 45 when he started writing the first “Rings,” as a sequel to his 1937 “The Hobbit”; he was 63 when the third novel was published.

Tolkien never expected his stories to become popular, but by sheer accident a book called The Hobbit, which he had written some years before for his own children, came in 1936 to the attention of Susan Dagnall, an employee of the London publishing firm George Allen & Unwin, who persuaded Tolkien to submit it for publication. When it was published a year later, the book attracted adult readers as well as children, and it became popular enough for the publishers to ask Tolkien to produce a sequel.

The request for a sequel prompted Tolkien to begin what would become his most famous work: the epic novel The Lord of the Rings (originally published in three volumes 1954–1955). Tolkien spent more than ten years writing the primary narrative and appendices for The Lord of the Rings, during which time he received the constant support of the Inklings, in particular his closest friend C. S. Lewis, the author of The Chronicles of Narnia. Both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings are set against the background of The Silmarillion, but in a time long after it.

Tolkien at first intended The Lord of the Rings to be a children's tale in the style of The Hobbit, but it quickly grew darker and more serious in the writing. Though a direct sequel to The Hobbit, it addressed an older audience, drawing on the immense backstory of Beleriand that Tolkien had constructed in previous years, and which eventually saw posthumous publication in The Silmarillion and other volumes. Tolkien's influence weighs heavily on the fantasy genre that grew up after the success of The Lord of the Rings.

The Lord of the Rings became immensely popular in the 1960s and has remained so ever since, ranking as one of the most popular works of fiction of the 20th century, judged by both sales and reader surveys. In the 2003 "Big Read" survey conducted by the BBC, The Lord of the Rings was found to be the UK's "Best-loved Novel". Australians voted The Lord of the Rings "My Favourite Book" in a 2004 survey conducted by the Australian ABC. In a 1999 poll of Amazon.com customers, The Lord of the Rings was judged to be their favourite "book of the millennium".

In 2002 Tolkien was voted the 92nd "greatest Briton" in a poll conducted by the BBC, and in 2004 he was voted 35th in the SABC3's Great South Africans, the only person to appear in both lists. His popularity is not limited to the English-speaking world: in a 2004 poll inspired by the UK's "Big Read" survey, about 250,000 Germans found The Lord of the Rings to be their favourite work of literature.

SORRY IMRAN KHAN

SORRY IMRAN KHAN

Sorry Imran Khan, there is definitely some good being done by your government (like austerity drive, trees, dam, funds etc.) and we prefer your leadership over elements from Jamaat-e-Islami but you should avoid being over-confident on matters of Islam.

The blasphemous cartoon contest in Holland was not called off primarily due to your efforts as claimed by you in your latest speech to the nation. The collective efforts of all do matter, however the offender cancelled the contest basically due to threats by Afghan Taliban who urged the Afghan soldiers in Afghanistan to attack Dutch troops that were serving under the NATO command. Secondly, a 26-year old Pakistani was also allegedly arrested in The Hague who had earlier threatened to kill Geert Wilders.

It was basically these threats or security concerns which took effect and scared the transgressor. Pakistan government's diplomatic efforts were not the main reason behind the success of cancellation of blasphemous contest though we should use all our resources and ways to protest in such matters.

Your vision of Madinah State is more inspired from Western States rather than the true model of Islam and it basically revolves around worldly goals (even if we need to learn positive trends of Western States).

In your very first speech to the nation after becoming Prime Minister of Pakistan, you stated that the rise of Muslims and consequently defeat of Roman and Persian Empires was due to strengthening of manpower and fulfilling rights of all (including minorities) in a just manner etc.

Manpower and just rights for all is a basic tenet of Islam (with a difference of few details) but we could be overlooking something about the main pillar of the first Madinah State. It is mentioned in Qur'an that Almighty Allah sent one thousand angels to help our dear Prophet (pbuh) and his companions when they were fighting the battle of Badr (Ghazwa-e-Badr) against the invaders from Makkah. How do you think that happened? The Prophet (pbuh) and his companions in Madinah had little manpower and certainly not material superiority. What they did have was total submission to Allah which we as a nation are lacking. The policies of present government of Pakistan are deficient in this regard though not totally disappointing thankfully.

Concerning the case of Asia Bibi, it is feared that we are always bowing before the pressures of imperial powers in the world. The protests by Khadim Hussain and his workers are very revolting, however it needs to be highlighted that whenever the matter of defending the honour of our dear Prophet (pbuh) is 'especially' concerned, we should take our own independent stand on the case and need not fear any reaction from the foreign countries for the only Superpower is Allah Almighty and we should submit to Him alone!

It is good decision by government to look into the case of Asia Bibi again. Supreme Court should scrutinize the case again and seek help from the genuine Islamic scholars of Islam also so that there is no ambiguity left in the case. The intervention of Islamic scholars in the process can impart credibility to it and can help calm down the extremists. It can convey an air of responsible attitude on part of government to the public and prevent anyone from taking law in their own hands. In the long run, the Pakistan government can win (not just PTI but it can function as a precedent for future governments also).

It is no doubt a highly sensitive case. When we have tried our best, then we can hope from the Almighty to absolve us.

May ALLAH guide us and protect us - Aameen.
