VICTORY OF HUSSAIN
(RA) - QUOTES OF SOME WESTERN THINKERS ON
TRAGEDY OF KARBALA - August 09, 2022
Imam Hussain (RA) was not just the grandson of the Prophet (pbuh).
He was an upright and honourable man who proved that truth has to be protected
at all costs. He knew that he stood little chance against the enemy when he proceeded
to Karbala, yet it did not stop him from taking his family along comprising of
women and children. The sacrifices he made for Islam will keep on illuminating
the hearts of Muslims (either Sunnis or Shias) forever to fight for the truth!
Given ahead are some selected quotes on the tragedy of Karbala!
"If Hussain fought to quench his worldly desires, then I do
not understand why his sisters, wives and children accompanied him. It stands
to reason therefore that he sacrificed purely for Islam.” – (Charles Dickens)
"The best lesson which we get from the tragedy of Karbala is
that Hussain and his companions were the rigid believers of God. They
illustrated that numerical superiority does not count when it comes to truth
and falsehood. The victory of Hussain despite his minority marvels
me!" - (Thomas Carlyle )
"Hussain marched with his little company not to glory, not to
power or wealth, but to a supreme sacrifice and every member of that gallant
band, male and female, knew that the foes were implacable, were not only ready
to fight but to kill. Denied even water for the children, they remained parched
under a burning sun, amid scorching sands yet no one faltered for a moment and
bravely faced the greatest odds without flinching.“ – (Dr. K. Sheldrake )
"This is a catastrophe whereof I care not to speak at length,
deeming it alike too grievous and too horrible. For verily, it was a
catastrophe than that which naught more shameful has happened in Islam...There
happened therein such a foul slaughter as to cause man's flesh to creep with
horror. And again I have dispersed with my long description because of it's
notoriety, for it is the most lamented of catastrophes.” – (Arab historian
al-Fakhri )

PASSIONATE SPEECH (Old) BY MR. ZAID HAMID - August 06, 2022
VIDEO LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DAereCpJYA
This is an old speech by Mr. Zaid Hamid at Lahore (perhaps Al-hamra) but it still has the capacity to shake your soul. And it is still very relevant to current times, surprisingly, because we are again in the same situation sadly. In 2011, I used to say that Zaid Hamid and Imran Khan are two lions of Pakistan but then maybe I got a little disappointed by both because we human beings tend to take others for granted or expect them to be perfect. Imran Khan is a clean man in the wrong system! That's it. So when it's Allah's decree, the system is going to be wrapped up with all of its filth and culprits punished in sha Allah.
However, the ideals presented by Mr. Zaid Hamid are not to be taken lightly and he in fact has much of an upper edge over Mr. Orya Maqbool Jan. With continuing research and awareness, we cannot ignore that "Pakistan is one of the secrets of Allah!" When your heart is clean, then Allah puts the right thought in it.
Lastly, we should never undermine the significance of Pakistan Armed Forces!
[NOTE: In the video speech above, the cameraman has focused too much on females in the audience which is against the spirit of Islam]

MINI-LECTURE (VIDEO) - How to observe Muharram (specifically 9 and 10 Muharram)?
ENGLISH DESCRIPTION AFTER THE URDU ONE AND LINK BELOW
LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cq91L4mtzCg
With regards to mourning in Muharram for Hadhrat Imam Hussain (ra) and his companions, a mini-lecture by Engineer Mirza has been shared. Apart from this video, it is not necessary that we agree with all other views of Mr. Mirza in his other video lectures. Neither is it being implied that only Engineer Mirza has understood Islam completely in the last 1400 years. In quite some of his videos, he does cross his limits. There are Islamic scholars in Pakistan who are greater in knowledge, experience and age than him. However, what Mr. Mirza has described with regards to mourning in Muharram in this video is a balanced point of view which is also not restricted to any sect or religious school of thought (mislik). Hence, please do watch this 10-minute video and ponder . . .
