A young Christian man and his wife who had dreams of a fancy life like all human beings were burnt alive in a brick kiln in Lahore near Kot Radha Kishan. Whatever the reason burning a human being alive is a hideous and barbaric act. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has forbidden it very clearly.  According to a hadith punishing someone with fire is only the right of Almighty Allah (swt). This is not the first time that an act of violence against minorities has happened in Pakistan. Earlier also there have been many such cases when Non-Muslims have been ruthlessly killed. The responsibility does not lie with the killers alone but the government, justice courts, political parties and media are also responsible.

The ruling government is primarily responsible for providing protection to all people whether they subscribe to any religion. To conceal its failure, the government firstly condemns such acts, and then declares intolerance and extremism as the major reasons for their occurrence. Afterwards it orders an inquiry into the case and announces an amount for the affected families. Then the government resumes silence till another such barbaric act occurs in the society.

Justice courts are unable to do anything concrete in spite of taking notice sometimes. Political parties condemn such acts in very strong words but fail to take any practical step to stop them. Media channels report such atrocities by blowing them out of proportions at first and then invite some so-called intellectuals and analysts to discuss the reasons for such acts and to find the solutions to eradicate them. Unfortunately, the members of society still remain victim of intolerance and extremism because instead of taking solutions from Islam, endless discussions erupt without subscribing to the ultimate truth!

In the 1300 period of Islam when Islamic Shariah remained implemented, such a horrific act with Non-Muslims never happened. On the contrary, there was complete freedom for the Non-Muslims to live their lives according to their faith and they were granted full rights. But the current secular democratic governments not only in Pakistan but the entire world are unable to provide security to the minorities because only the system imparted by Allah (swt) is the solution to all issues. Only a Khalifa can provide protection to the minorities by implementing Islamic Shariah as he will know that he is accountable to Almighty Allah (swt) on Judgment Day for everything.

People who malign Islam and Pakistan due to such acts of violence against Non-Muslims forget that ever since the inception of Pakistan, a true Islamic Shariah system has never been implemented in its entirety so far!

Rasool Allah (Sal-Allahu-Alaihi-Wa-Alaihi-Wassallam) said (the meaning of which is): “Anyone who kills a ‘zimmi’ (A Non-Muslim who lives in a Muslim state and pays ‘jizya’) will not even have access to the fragrance of Jannah though its fragrance can come across from a distance of 40 years.” – (Al-Bukhari)

The meaning of another hadith is: “Anyone who kills a ‘zimmi’, Almighty Allah will forbid Jannah for him.” – (Sunan Abu-Dawood)
