DEATH PENALTY AND THE QUESTION OF EDUCATING THE MASSES:
An eye for an eye is given in Islam then who are we to debate the question of death penalty in Pakistan? Not a single terrorist has been hanged in Pakistan, can we imagine how this is giving free hand to terrorists? Secondly, compulsory education should be given to each and every child (male or female) in Pakistan, but that cannot stop people from killing each other. Is Obama not highly educated? What about George Bush Senior who first let Iraq invade Kuwait and then let the US Air force bomb Iraq in 1991 in which so many civilians lost their lives. Afterwards US imposed multiple sanctions on Iraq and the civilians were the most affected due to that. Child mortality rate increased (doubled or tripled) in the coming years due to the impact of those sanctions and the effects were felt till 2000 or so. In the 1980s, US supported the same regime of Saddam against Iran and even provided biological weapons and dangerous chemicals to Iraq against Iran. And US government administration comprises of well-educated if not highly-educated individuals.
