The Second Khilafah

The system of "Khilafah" sounds very alien to us because it seems at tangent with the current trends of this world. It is apparent that groups like ISIS and TTP have hijacked and maligned the concept of Khilafah due to their inhuman inclinations. The imperial powers (do you deny the existence of "imperial powers"?) have NATO, EU, UN - What does the Muslim world have? OIC is a very weak organization and especially when the Arab leaders are sleeping as well as the leaders in other Muslim countries with dead hearts and are Muslims in name only. It is incumbent on us to at least accept Khilafah as our own niche and model, and to familiarize us with its significance and ultimate revival in End times!

Khilafah is a shield which can protect the whole Muslim Ummah and which can unite us. Sunnis and Shias, both should acknowledge this and remove their differences. With the appearance of the awaited Great Imam, Almighty ALLAH (swt) will reveal the truth to the striving Muslims who will then pledge allegiance to him. At the moment, we have many differences over religion, but the Great Imam Mahdi (ra) will guide us to the true ways of Islam. After seeing the signs which he will show to the world, our confusion and arguments will end. Hence, our main concern should be on striving in the way of ALLAH (swt) and it is to be stressed that there are many paths which lead to ALLAH (swt) though the main commandments and concepts remain the same!

Hadith on Second Khilafah

Imam Ahmed ibn Hanbal extracted that Huthayfah (R.A) said the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: “The Prophecy will remain amongst you as long as Allah wills, then Allah will lift it when he wishes, then it will be a Khilafah Rashidah (i.e. The first four Khalifahs) on the method of the Prophecy, it will remain for as long as Allah wills, then he will lift it when he wills, then it will be a hereditary leadership (i.e. the Abbasid and Ummayid dynasties etc) for as long as Allah wills then he will lift it when he so wills. Then there will be a tyrannical rule (i.e. all the current regimes of the Muslim world) for as long as Allah wills, then he will lift it when he so wills, then there will be a Khilafah Rashidah on the method of the Prophecy, then he kept silent.” ~ [Musnad Imam Ahmed 4/273]
