War & Malala - No Peace

WAR AND MALALA – NO PEACE

Written by – Roman Ahsan

Many people in Pakistan have become fans of Malala, the girl who was shot and injured by the terrorists in the North of Pakistan. They think Malala represents every Pakistani female who wants and needs education, hence a symbol of enlightenment and progressiveness for females. YES, WE DO WANT EVERY PAKISTANI GIRL TO BE EDUCATED AS IT MEANS EDUCATING A WHOLE HOUSEHOLD.  What we fail to consider is that why a Pakistani girl has been given so much projection as to make her deliver a speech in the United Nations on her 16th birthday recently? The same UN which is quiet over the height of unjustness in the case of Aafia Siddiqui as well as hundreds of innocent civilians (many of those include little girls as well) killed by drone attacks in Pakistan, not to forget the unjust treatment of females in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya etc.

The terrorists in Pakistan ARE dangerous, as they are killing common people and women in universities. However, we have not taken into account why those terrorists are attacking only our Army officers, students, mosques, shrines, churches, Shia-processions, security officers, markets, Army headquarters, Naval bases, educational institutions, FIA buildings etc.? Why have there been thankfully no attacks on US Consulates/Embassy and US stations in Pakistan? THINK, THINK!! If these are acts of Islamic extremism then why have there been thankfully no attacks on media and fashion shows/activities, and the associated centers? Who is backing them? And who wants to create an air of perpetual insecurity and fear in Pakistan to destabilize the country? Who are the Masterminds?

Let’s wake up my friends. By highlighting the case of Malala in the whole world repeatedly, our friends in UN and its lobby want to re-affirm that Pakistan is a ‘safe haven’ for terrorists and hence a dangerous place. This stance ‘can be’ used against the country in future whenever they feel like. It’s like building a consensus and winning global opinion on the issue. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? To the majority of people in the world who know very little about Pakistan, the image of a country is being built where young girls are attacked if they dare think about education. And sadly, our Malala did not protest against the continuing evil foreign policies of US and its allies in her speech in UN. She only spoke the lines what the elders fed to her there - Thank you Malala for not representing the sentiments of the masses in Pakistan!

Those who are paying tribute to Malala in UN and those who are the Masterminds of terrorism in Pakistan, are these two different parties? – well, the rest you can guess easily!

Anyone who is loyal to Pakistan (or more appropriately to truth and justice) should not go for the apparent of all that is happening. These are difficult times with lies everywhere. We need to go a little deeper in things and should not care for those who are always screaming "conspiracy theories". What has UN done for the betterment of the world since the last many decades? So many wars have happened in the name of crushing terrorism, why is UN so silent? Our country would do well without IMF loans also, which only bind us in terms and conditions that are detrimental to the country. We are just being used and we are ourselves to be blamed for that!

It is needless to say that Malala is innocent herself but it's the powers which are using her for their benefit and to malign the image of Pakistan. We should protect her and she is like our own daughter but she does not know herself the right from wrong being played into the game! The imperialistic forces use such individuals to project their own ideals under the cover of educating girls and she is slowly being brainwashed. They are preparing a Pakistani leader for tomorrow who would beckon to their call. But first they must honor her beyond ordinary call of duty so as to make her feel extra special!

"In U.S. war films, the American soldier fighting in a strange land befriends a local child, creating a personal bond of humanity, while busily killing scores of the kid’s adult countrymen. Similarly, U.S. media identifies children among the “worthy victims” of the other side in U.S. foreign wars. Children deemed unworthy of American sympathy are left to the tender mercies of drones. If Malala had been maimed by an American drone attack, the media would probably not have reported it at all."- Margaret Kimberly, BAR
