A sensitive topic for youngsters

Is Masturbation allowed if it stops you from committing the actual act of zina?

Below is an answer on a website followed by my view on it.

Both fornication and masturbation are sinful, harmful and detrimental to one’s spirituality and physical well being. One should avoid all sin and not try to justify a sin as being less detrimental.

Almighty Allah states “Success is really attained by the believers …. who guard their private parts except from their wives or from those (bondwomen who are) owned by their hands, as they are not to be blamed. However, those who seek (sexual pleasure) beyond that are the transgressors” (Quran 23:1-7)

MY VIEW ON IT BUT I AM NOT AN ISLAMIC SCHOLAR - S Roman Ahsan.

According to some Islamic philosophers, if masturbation prevents from greater sins like fornication then it is not forbidden. But it should not be done frequently and yes, efforts need to be made against it by indulging in fasting, prayers, zikr and pure environments. However, some men have higher sexual desire than others and masturbation could be good for them according to psychologists (still they also have to make efforts against it spiritually).

Getting married is not so easy for many young men and they have to wait till they are 30. This is very bad custom and men should marry when they are 25. Also, a male student will not be able to fast on regular basis as he would need energy for studies and other physical acts. Still, he should try to fast at least on every Monday which is the day our dear Prophet (pbuh) also essentially fasted (apart from Ramadan also). He used to fast on Thursdays also.

Masturbation is done by boys after they discover it. And due to advent of media and TV in every home, men are exposed to different stimuli which provoke them into wrong acts. Men cannot totally avoid evil but do their utmost best. If they fall victim to it, they should repent and seek forgiveness of Allah. But don't feel so guilty after it though try to fortify yourself against it.

I am not an Islamic Scholar and consult proper men of Allah and others in this regard. May ALLAH guide us and protect us - Aameen.
