Imran Khan gave a very cool response about planning to do
something with OIC and UN etc. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Quraishi called his Dutch counterpart. Such feeble responses never can stop those
abroad with evil intentions even though something is better than nothing. It
was the death-threats which made the offender in Holland uneasy. A 26-year old
Pakistan was caught in The Hague who had announced earlier that he would
kill the offender for holding a cartoon contest. Secondly, Afghan Taliban urged
the Afghan soldiers to attack Dutch soldiers in retaliation who are serving under the NATO command in Afghanistan. It was these threats due to which Geert Wilders
cancelled the blasphemous cartoon contest.
The collective efforts of all do matter. Raising our voices
at different forums always matters hence it is not being suggested that Pak
government did not do anything. However, the government needs to become a
little more aggressive when dealing with such matters like blasphemous contests
designed against our Prophet (pbuh). What have UN and OIC done about the oppression
faced by Palestinians and Kashmiris since 70 years? Most believers around the
world have little expectations from this Zionist organization. Currently also, Yemen is under attack by the Saudis and infants, old people, women are dying. Israel recently carried out air-raids on Palestinian civilians in August 2018. What did UN and OIC did about that?
Loving our dear Prophet (pbuh) is not about killing people.
But it still calls for more steps and concerns on our side when we are faced
with such satanic agendas abroad in the name of 'freedom of expression'.
Pak government should still use all international platforms and formulate a strong strategy so that the offenders against Islam think a hundred times before they try to carry out such heinous crimes.
