HARUN YAHYA ARRESTED - July 11, 2018

Adnan Oktar (pen-name Harun Yahya), an Islamic televangelist of Turkey who presented himself as Islamic scholar with his own website and having written many books has been arrested in Turkey over accusations including forming a criminal gang, fraud and sexual abuse, Istanbul police headquarters said on Wednesday.. He was fond of being surrounded by scantily clad dancing women he calls his "kittens".

It seems we should be careful about even Islamic scholars who come too much in front, though there is no hard to fast rule to judge anyone. However, even way back in 2012, it was disappointing to see Harun Yahya in videos with scantily dressed girls around him and we assumed he was just "liberal". It becomes apparent that no Islamic scholar would be a true scholar if he regularly appears in the company of girls in immodest dressing. And now we also know that the said "scholar" is associated with criminal gang, fraud etc. It is also difficult to accept how a Muslim writer who has written inspiring books on Islam could be found associated with criminal gang, fraud and sexual abuse.
