A man of the code is a man who has decided to live his life by a certain code of honor, a specific set of standards or principles which guide his life. Most men simply go through life on auto-pilot, doing whatever they are in the mood for or whatever is best for them personally. They don’t base their decisions on a set of principles, but rather on emotions or what they feel at the time.

He takes life a little more seriously than other men, but at the same time is not rigid or sanctimonious. He simply understands what principles are important to him and he lives by those principles.
